Family Marathon Volunteers Needed
Dear Parents,
Over the next few weeks we will hold our two OCE Family Marathons. Approximately 500 students have signed up and will complete their final 1.2 miles of marathon training at school. This school wide event is a wonderful opportunity to promote healthful living as well as recognize the many students and families who set and achieved their training goals.
To make this event possible we need your help. We are currently in need of more volunteers to help with the Family Marathon November 8 (Tracks 2 and 4) and November 15 (Tracks 1 and 3). Please sign up by this Thursday on VolunteerSpot.com which describes the many ways to assist. Book Fair Volunteers Needed!
The Fall Book Fair is just around the corner. As always, we rely on volunteers to make this event a success for the students. The Book Fair for Tracks 1 & 2 will run from Tuesday, November 8 to Thursday, November 10. Tracks 3 & 4 will have their fair from Monday, November 14 through Wednesday, November 16.

Open House Tonight!
Just wanted to post a quick reminder that open house will be tonight, August 24th. There will be two, half hour sessions. The first session will run from 6:00-6:30. There will be a PTA meeting from 6:30-7:00. Then second session will run from 7:00-7:30. I hope to see you all there!

Student/Parent Book Club
The 4th and 5th grade Student/Parent Book Club will have its first meeting on Tuesday, September 20th at 7 pm in the Media Center. The group will discuss Schooled by Gordon Korman. October’s selection is Peak by Roland Smith. The book club meets on the third Tuesday of each month. If you have any questions, please email Betsy Stiehm at Betsy@Stiehm.com.
